Do you find secondhand smoke irritating?

You might just bear with it because you think that it doesn’t affect you.
But these are the facts!

4000 known chemicals in tobacco smoke and at least 250 of them are harmful and more than 50 cause cancer. NON-SMOKERS are at risks of developing lung cancer and other related diseases attributed to tobacco smoke too! This is no longer "none of your business" anymore.

Secondhand smoke is the silent killer! Neither ventilation nor filtration, even in combination is able to protect you. Only 100% smoke-free environment provides the best protection to you and your loved ones.

Never take breathing in secondhand smoke as a norm anymore.
Transform your voices into actions. Claim you rights to have a 100% smoke-free environment!

Green Lung is a youth grassroot movement empowering youths as change agents in advocating for 100% tobacco-free environment. We aim to raise the awareness of the danger of secondhand smoke and the significance of having a tobacco-free environment.

The cycle of poverty is an issue that begins when a child is born into an extremely low income family and enters an environment that lacks stimulation. With lack of education, children grow up with low self-image due to improper attention from caring role-models.

Delinquency, loitering, gangsterism and abuse are highly common amongst illiterate teenagers; further lowering their chances of obtaining a secure and steady job.

The issue snowballs when these teenagers get involved in pre-marital sex and are forced to start families without a stable income. The poverty cycle will then be passed on to the next generation.

How does the cycle end?
Education.

Dignity for Children promotes the importance of education and funds one-stop community-learning centres to help children between the age of 2-17 yrs old.

All Dignity Education Programmes are based on the national curriculum as prescribed by the MOE, but incorporate Montesorri principles and philosophies in execution. This means that proper training is carried out for volunteers who wish to become teachers.

With over 14,000 children in Malaysia who do not have access to school, teachers are in great demand in foundations such as Dignity. The life-changing work of Dignity for Children Foundation is only made possible through the continued help and support of people like you! Get involved and become a seed of change in a child’s life today.

Looking fit and having one of the most interesting careers, Giuliana Rancic was all about living a year of fun this 2011. Planning to undergo IVF treatment to conceive a baby, Rancic was determined to have a child with husband, Bill Rancic even through her busy life as the co-host of E! News.

However, all plans came to a standstill this mid-October as Rancic's mammogram test revealed that the 36 year old host was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer.

At a young age, Rancic was shocked with the life-threatening news and did not expect it coming. Not able to continue with her IVF treatment, Giuliana is still determined to have a full recovery and would still like to be a mother one day. Coming out to the public wasn't easy after receiving the "punch-in-the-stomach", but kudos to her for being a good role-model and encouraging young women all over the world to take up early breast cancer tests.

In fact,

Every 1 out of 19 women is affected by breast cancer in Malaysia.
Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer among women worldwide
Early detection of breast cancer is 98% curable
Chinese women seem to be at greatest risk, following by Indians and Malays
More than 1 MILLION women are afflicted with breast cancer per year
Now that you have the facts, don't be ignorant. Make an appointment for a check up if you are over the age of 30!

The fight for survival is a daily battle for refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia. Coming from countries such as Burma, refugees are forced to flee from their homelands in pursuit of safety from oppressive conditions such as confiscation of homes, forced labor, systematic rape and torture. However, their efforts to gain freedom in Malaysia are short-lived due to discrimination from local employers.

Refugees and asylum seekers work in situations where they face verbal and physical abuse from employers, low/unpaid wages, and long working hours in exploitative conditions.

Question is, where is the humanity in all of this?

Agree to stand up against forced labor and human trafficking by signing a Petition Letter to the Prime Minister of Malaysia today! Petition available here : http://chn.ge/heimalaysiapetition

Millions of people around the globe look into the future hoping for a brighter one with each new day.

But we could lose our natural gifts.

Everyday someone consumes an endangered species.

Everyday someone pollutes the ocean, killing healthy marine life.

Everyday a forest is threatened by deforestation.

Everyday wildlife gets killed for sale.

Without healthy forest and marine ecosystems, our food supply would be adversely affected. Without healthy forests, we could lose our freshwater sources, ultimately depreciating our quality of life.

By helping to protect our environment, we are also protecting our livelihoods, food and water supply; securing our good quality of life and our children's bright future.

Make the right call and pledge to "Live Green".

What does it mean to Live Green?

: A decision to stop consuming endangered wildlife, which helps conserve healthy marine and forest ecosystems, thus protecting our food, freshwater and other ecological services; ultimately safeguarding our quality of life.

Choose to be a conservation hero for the good of all the Earth!
